Hot Cross Buns made with Almond Flour Baking Mix Artisan Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

1/4 cup apple juice
1/2 cup of dried raisins
1 egg
3 tbsp coconut oil, melted and slightly cooled
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ginger
1/8 tsp cloves
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1 box Simple Mills Artisan Bread
2 tbsp honey, melted
1/3 cup Simple Mills Vanilla Frosting

Instructions:

PREHEAT oven to 350ºF and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
ADD apple juice and raisins to a small bowl. Cover with a plastic wrap and microwave for 45 seconds. Remove from the microwave and set aside to cool.
ADD the egg, coconut oil, apple cider vinegar, and spices to a large bowl. Mix well to combine. Add the artisan bread mix and rum and raisin mixture. Mix until combined. Let the dough sit for 5 minutes.
SCOOP dough using a 1/4 cup and roll into a balls. Arrange on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
BRUSH each bun with honey. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until slightly golden. Let cool completely.
ALLOW frosting to come to room temperature. Microwave for a few seconds and stir for extra spreadability.
TRANSFER frosting to a piping bag or Ziploc bag. If you are using a Ziploc bag, cut a corner off. Pipe it in a cross shape atop each bun.

Tips:

To prevent the dough from sticking to your hands, oil your hands with melted coconut oil.
