What you put on your body matters just as much as what you put in it! Today, I’m going to share a few ways to make your daily beauty routine more simple and free from the toxins present in conventional beauty products. You might already have some of these in your kitchen!
Makeup remover: Coconut oil
Coconut oil is an awesome natural makeup remover. As a bonus, it will moisturize the delicate skin around your eyes at the same time – and it smells like vacation! Just apply to a cotton ball and use the same exact way you would use regular makeup remover. Or do what I do and apply it directly with your fingers in the shower, then rinse! Super easy and environmentally friendly.
Nighttime moisturizer: Argan oil
Argan oil comes from the fruit of the argan tree, indigenous to Morocco. It’s become really trendy, and some skincare lines have built their reputation around argan oil – but if you check the label, it’s just one of many ingredients! Instead, go straight to the source and use pure organic argan oil. A few drops applied before bedtime will leave you with a glow in the morning.
Facial exfoliant: Strawberries
Strawberries have alpha-hydroxy acid, which helps exfoliate dead skin cells to reveal the glowing skin beneath! Cut a strawberry in half and rub it all over your (freshly washed) face. Leave the juice for a few minutes and then rinse. Voila – smooth and soft skin!
Hair conditioning treatment: Avocado
Mash up the avocado and combine with a tablespoon of olive oil, then apply to the bottom half of your hair. Wait 30 minutes and then rinse in the shower. The blend does a great job of conditioning those split ends!
