The mother of chocolate, cocoa beans can be found in different regions along the equator. They grow in pods at the trunk of the cocoa trees and can be harvested year round. The pods, which range in color from red, to purple, to yellow and green, are extracted once ripe. We love cocoa because, quite simply, it’s delicious! But also because of their flavonoids and other beloved antioxidants.
